CME Group makes error in calculating deliveries

Following an error in its “Deliverable Commodities Under Registration Report” Thursday afternoon, the CME Group says it will assume financial responsibility for customer losses connected to the error. According to a statement from the Chicago Board of Trade’s parent company, the report showed 164 registered wheat shipping certificates, which did not include 2,000 certificates from the Andersons’ Conant and Illinois Facilities.

The CME Group will establish a claims process for customers with details to be posted to their website. Customers can also call CME Group Market Regulation at (312) 435-3658 or (312) 341-7757.

Friday was the first notice day for deliveries on CBOT December grain and oilseed contracts.
