You can turn your pumpkin into a pie but not if it’s been carved. Pumpkins are rich in fiber and vitamins and are a fat free food, so why waste them? Tammy Roberts, is a University of Missouri Extension nutrition and health education specialist, who says you can cook your pumpkins as long as they haven’t been turned into Jack-O-Lanterns and as long as there are no signs of decay. Pumpkin can be used for not only pie but in savory dishes such as soups.
