Delegates to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this week will be busy during the business session of the convention.
Shelby Faulkner, President of the Ohio FFA is not only a convention delegate, Shelby is serving as a Vice Chair on one of the issues before the delegates.
“It’s actually discussing bringing more urban students and giving them more opportunities for their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE), so that’s very exciting for urban students within Ohio and across the United States,” said the Ohio FFA President. “They are also discussing creating more Career Development Events (CDE) on the national level.”
For those FFA members attending their first National FFA Convention, Shelby hopes they’ll take advantage of the opportunities.
“Whether it’s walking around the career show, or listening to speakers, just pay attention to all of the students competing and receiving awards,” Faulkner said. “Pay attention to what they’re receiving them for, because one day that could be that student up there.”
The Ohio FFA State President tells Brownfield she’s also looking forward to seeing all of the Ohio FFA members at the Buckeye Bash.
