With cold weather just around the corner, we asked Dr. Jessica Young of Diamond Y Equine Veterinary Services of Ogden, Iowa for some tips on getting our horses ready for winter. 

Dr. Young says, for starters, you need to make sure you have a good supply of quality hay in the barn—and then make sure you are feeding adequate amounts of it during the winter months.

She also talks about blanketing your horse during cold weather.
