Two win Ag Youth Award at Iowa Fair

WCCI radio was proud to present two Brownfield Ag News awards at the Carroll County, Iowa, Fair.

The first award went to Mary Francque. Mary is a 9-year member of the Milledgeville Hotshots 4-H Club; she is the daughter of Josh & Darci Francque of Dixon. Mary’s 4-H projects include Beef, Horse, Sewing & Textiles, Tractor, Visual Arts, Corn, Public Presentations, Shooting Sports-Shotgun & Vet Science. Mary is currently the Carroll Co. 4-H Federation President; County 4-H Ambassador, President of her 4-H Club and a Jr. Leader. Mary has participated in Horse Bowl, Hippology and Horse Judging at the regional and state level. This year, she will participate in Hippology on the National Level. Mary will be a senior at Sterling High School this fall.

The next award went to Kyle Imel of Chadwick. Kyle is a 10-year member of the Chadwick Achievers 4-H Club. He is the son of Tom and Sandy Imel of Chadwick. Kyle’s 4-H projects include beef and in the past he has taken meat & dairy goats, woodworking, and chickens. He is serving his third year as president of his 4-H Club, in which he is also a Junior Leader. Kyle will attend Highland Community College in the fall as an agriculture major.
