Ryan Best could not contain his excitement when he found out he was National FFA President. Best will retire the post this year.
As 85th National FFA Convention & Expo nears – National FFA President Ryan Best says it is hard to believe his year of service is coming to an end. “I’ve been in FFA since I was an 8th grader,” he says. “This will be my 8th convention since I’ve been in FFA, that’s a pretty significant chunk of my life.”
Best says while he is sad to see his FFA story end – he is excited for the future. “I’m excited to take the skills and abilities I have learned this year and apply it in the future in a position teaching agriculture education,” Best says.
He adds this past year has reinforced his desire to teach ag education. “What we don’t realize is agricultural education isn’t just teaching students about ag,” he notes. “What it is doing is providing life skills. It’s about helping a student realize they have the potential to change their future.”
Best and his officer team will be joined by over 50,000 other FFA members next week in Indianapolis for the 85th National FFA Convention & Expo.
