Some pork industry analysts are predicting increased liquidation of hog herds in coming months.
According to Matt Swantek, an Extension swine field specialist with Iowa State University, many pork producers are doing all they can to avoid liquidating their herd. He says a lot of them have been waiting to see final harvest results before making those tough decisions.
