Missouri soybean harvest on target

Missouri’s corn harvest is a month and a half ahead of normal, with 92 percent completed as of Sunday. Corn harvest is 15 days ahead of last year at this time. Soybean harvest is 20-percent complete. Soybean maturity is in line with last year and the average. A third of the bean crop is in poor to very poor condition, about one third is in fair condition and the other third is in good to excellent shape.

Twenty-three percent of winter wheat is planted – slightly ahead of last year and the average.

Less than a half an inch of precipitation was reported statewide last week. Pasture conditions remain rough — hay and water supplies remain very short.
