Tips on grazing of cornstalks

Poor pastures, tight hay supplies and an early corn harvest will likely mean a significant increase in cornstalk grazing in the Midwest this fall.

There is also much more baling of cornstalks and corn residue taking place.

University of Nebraska Extension beef specialist Dr. Rick Rasby says, because of the drought, there could be some concern with nitrates in non-irrigated fields.
