State ag directors spent the week in Iowa

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) held its annual meeting in Iowa this week.

State ag directors, ag commissioners and ag secretaries from all across the U.S. spent the week in meetings and on bus tours around the state.

Iowa secretary of agriculture Bill Northey is wrapping up his year as president of NASDA.  He talked with Brownfield about this week’s meeting and some of the key issues they discussed.

For Texas agriculture commissioner Todd Staples, it was his first visit to Iowa.  We asked him for his general impressions of Iowa, but more specifically about ethanol, a subject on which Iowans and Texans haven’t always seen eye-to-eye.
