Oklahoma State University Extension livestock marketing specialist Derrell Peel has been trying to find an answer to that question—but he admits it a tough one to get a handle on.
Peel says one of the unknowns is whether producers have made enough adjustments to their herds relative to forage conditions and winter hay supplies. He says additional cow culling may be needed this fall.
