North American Manure Expo on Wednesday

The North American Manure Expo is this Wednesday at the USDA Dairy Forage Research Center just north of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Kevin Erb with University of Wisconsin Extension says the day starts out with a demonstration of lagoon agitation equipment followed by a number of educational seminars dealing with. Later in the afternoon there will be demonstrations of solid, liquid and dragline manure applications with a manure spill response demonstration to wrap the day up.

A number of regulatory agencies including the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and EPA Region 5 will be there to answer your questions and concerns.

There is a trade show with 60 vendors featuring the latest innovations for livestock producers and professional applicators. The trade show opens at 7:30 a.m., lagoon demonstrations start at 8, educational seminars run 10:30 to 12:30. After lunch there will be time to visit the trade show with the field demonstrations starting at 2. The day concludes about 30 minutes after the manure spill demonstration.

There is no charge to attend the day and it is open to all interested parties. The Expo is 4.5 miles north of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin on State Highway 78, just watch for the signs.  Further details are available from the Manure Expo website here:
