Grand Champion market lamb selected

After a very long day of judging 638 market lambs, Marvin Ensor of San Angelo, Texas selected a crossbred market lamb exhibited by Emily Overs of DeGraff as the Grand Champion at the 2012 Ohio State Fair.

For Emily, who is heading to Purdue University in just a couple of weeks, it was a great way to end.

“I’m very happy it’s a great day,” said Overs. “He’s the champion crossbred and he weighs 140 pounds, he’s from John Shroyer of Shroyer Show Stock.”

The Reserve Grand Champion market lamb was also a crossbred, the lamb weighed 137 and was shown by Madison Banbury of Danville.

“I had a good feeling,” Banbury said. “I think it was just more being happy with our set than one particular lamb.”
