The drought that is gripping a major chunk of the nation’s breadbasket—and the impact it is having on the agricultural economy—was a big topic of discussion Monday at the Iowa Farm Bureau Economic Summit in Ames.
For some historical perspective on the drought and an update on current weather patterns, Brownfield turned to veteran weather-watcher Elwynn Taylor, Extension climatologist at Iowa State University.
