Walker declares state of emergency in northern Wisconsin

Governor Scott Walker has declared a State of Emergency in Douglas, Bayfield and Ashland Counties in northern Wisconsin after surveying the damage done by heavy rains last week. More than 500 homes and businesses and infrastructure were damaged by the flooding. Damage is estimated at more than $2.5 million. Walker instructed all state agencies to assist in any way in the effort to help the area recover.
