It was a big night at the 83rd Indiana FFA State Convention. 
Tuesday evening three individuals were honored during the fourth general session at the convention for their dedication to Indiana FFA. Anna Ariens, Past Executive Director for the Indiana FFA Association; Travis Scherer, Tri-County High School Agricultural Instructor; and Dr. B. Allen Talbert, Agricultural Education Professor at Purdue University all received their Honorary Hoosier Farmer Degree. Joe McCain, Agricultural Instructor at Greenfield Central and John Wellman, State FFA Convention Coordinator were honored with the 2012 Distinguished Service Award.
In addition to the over 350 Hoosier Farmer Degrees awarded Tuesday evening, three outstanding FFA members were named Stars Over Indiana.
Mallarie Stookey of Warsaw Indiana received Indiana’s Star Farmer award.

Katelin Schomber of the North Decatur FFA Chapter received the State Star in Ag Placement.
