The AVMA likes the horse soring rule

The American Veterinary Medical Association, AVMA, says it is glad to see more uniform requirements of horse industry organizations when it comes to the inhumane practice of horse soring, a regulation it has long advocated for.

Mandatory minimum sentencing for soring a horse is the focus of a final rule recently issued by the USDA’s Animal and Plant  Health Inspection Service.

Brownfield discussed the USDA rule and the horse soring issue with Gail Golab, director of AVMA’s animal welfare division.
