Livestock producers who need assistance finding hay due to the drought conditions can use Missouri’s online Hay Directory. More than 80 listings of hay for sale are on the directory with links to hay markets in eight states: Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma. It’s also linked to USDA directories and the Dyersville, Fort Atkinson and Rock Valley auctions.
Individual offerings list as many as five-thousand bales. Producers who want to list their hay for sale should fill out the online form at the Missouri Department of Agriculture website.
