The path has been cleared for the Senate to discuss the 2012 Farm Bill; the Ag Committee’s proposal cleared a procedural vote 90-8 this morning allowing the bill to proceed to the floor for debate and amendments. The vote is seen as an indicator of strong bipartisan support for the measure although the floor action is expected to take weeks. Senate Ag Committee chair Debbie Stabenow and ranking member Pat Roberts will manage the floor action.
