Compliance meetings scheduled

Permitted livestock operations in Indiana have a new set of rules taking effect July 1 and to help those operations understand the rule changes, a series of compliance meetings are scheduled beginning June 5.

“Where we take experts from the commodity organizations and talk through the individual pieces of these compliance obligations and to help producers better understand how that affects them and how they can be in compliance,” said Greg Slipher, Indiana Farm Bureau’s Livestock Specialist.

More information about the meetings scheduled for June 5, 19, 26 and 28 is available on the Indiana Farm Bureau web site

“Its important to make sure we know what’s expected of us in this livestock industry under these new rules,” Slipher said. “This is the first rule change we’ve gone through since I believe 2002, so culturally this has to be something that we’re going to have to put on our radar screen again.”
