DFA breaks ground for Nevada plant

Dairy Farmers of America broke ground this week for a new $85 million dairy ingredients plant in Fallon, Nevada, about an hour east of Reno. The plant will have the capacity to take in 2 million pounds of milk per day and make approximately 250,000 pounds dried dairy ingredients such as whole milk powder daily.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June with completion set for the summer of 2013.
