A closer look at manure as a nutrient source

With the increased cost of fertilizer some farmers are taking a closer look at using manure as a nutrient source. Glen Arnold, manure nutrient management specialist for the Ohio State University Extension, says for some, they may be using manure for the first time, for others, it may have been a few years. Arnold, whose field research includes the use of livestock manure on growing crops such as corn and wheat, said he’s found that farmers can benefit financially by using manure.
