Ohio’s top corn and soybean counties

The Ohio field office of the National Ag Statistics Service (NASS) has just come out with the 2011 rankings for corn and soybean production.

Darke County was the number 1 corn producing county in the state in 2011, with production totaling 16.5 million bushels. Wood County was number 2, with production of 15.8 million bushels. Rounding out the top 5 corn producing counties, Madison County was number 3, Pickaway number 4 and Crawford County was 5th.

The top soybean producing county in 2011 was Wood County with production totaling 7.1 million bushels, Putnam County was the number 2 soybean producing county at 6.6 million bushels, rounding out the top 5, Hancock was number 3, Madison number 4 and Seneca county was number 5.
