State Representative Robert Sprague of Findlay, Representative Brian Hill of Zanesville and State Senator Bill Beagle of Tipp City have co-sponsored legislation that will update the state’s Ag-LINK program. Representative Sprague describes what the proposed legislation does.
“What we are doing, is raising the per person limit on the Ag-LINK deposit loan program from $100,000 to $150,000 per person and then there’s an aggregate limit that the Treasurer of State has to stay within and currently that’s at $125 million,” said Representative Sprague. “We’re increasing that total amount of loans that Treasurer of State can process to $165 million.”

Representative Hill (R-Zanesville) tells Brownfield he has seen firsthand what the Ag-LINK program has come to mean to farmers.
“I’ve been in the feed business about 25 years and a lot of my customers, especially the younger customers that we’re trying to get started in the business this is an opportunity for them to get a hold of some capitol,” Representative Hill said. “This has been a way for them to get in, the banks feel secure lending them the money and gives them the opportunity to be in the business.”
