The Ohio legislature is in the process of addressing the definition of agriculture and Adam Ward, Executive Director of the Ohio Soybean Association tells Brownfield action on HB 276 could come rather quickly.
“House Bill 276 addresses the definition of agriculture for zoning and taxation purposes from a CAUV standpoint here in Ohio,” Ward said. “It’s really an important issue for Ohio’s farmers.”
Ward says because of the timeline, it’s important for legislators to hear from agriculture on HB 276.
“Get to the Statehouse, make your telephone calls, talk to the folks on the House ag committee, make sure you let Senator Hite know from Findlay and Representative Hall from Eastern Ohio that’s it’s very important that we get this legislation passed,” said Ward. “It is critical in the long term for rural communities that we have here in Ohio.”
