33 families receive Hoosier Homestead Award

33 families whose farm has been in the same family for more than 100 years will were presented with the Hoosier Homestead Award during a Statehouse ceremony on Friday, February 11.

Indiana Lt. Governor Becky Skillman and Agriculture Director Joe Kelsay presented the Centennial Award to 22 families whose farm has been in the family for at least 100 years, 11 families receive the Sesquicentennial Award for keeping the farm for 150 years or more.

“We are so thankful for our hard-working Indiana farmers and their families,” said Lt. Governor, Becky Skillman. “It is always my honor to present these awards. These recipients are always so humble but they have so much to be proud of in passing down a farm from one generation to the next and in the effort to provide high-quality, affordable food for every Hoosier, every day.”
