Farm equipment sales strong in December

December was a big month for sales of tractors and combines—a strong finish to a strong year.

Combine sales were up more than 37 percent in December and finished the year ten percent higher than 2009.

Sales of four-wheel drive tractors were up 40 percent in December and finished 28 percent higher for the year.  Sales of two-wheel drive 100-plus horsepower tractors in 2010 were up 18 percent from 2009.
