A combination of lower meat supplies and good consumer demand has driven this year’s recovery in cattle and hog prices. And while the supply picture looks very positive going forward, the demand outlook is a little harder to predict. In an interview with Brownfield’s Ken Anderson, Iowa State University livestock economist Shane Ellis cites continued uncertainty about the general economy as one of his concerns.
