August base milk prices mixed

Farm milk prices are certainly much better than they were a year ago. The August base milk prices for Class II and IV are a little lower than a month ago but substantially better than August of 2009. For August production, the Class II price is $16.98 per hundredweight, 12-cents lower than the July price but $6.12 better than a year ago. The August Class III base price is $15.18, up $1.45 from July and $3.98 better than last August. Class IV base is $15.61, down 14-cents from July but $5.23 above August of 2009.
