Ethanol production slipped a bit last week

The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol production in the U.S. last week averaged 821,000 barrels per day, down 4 percent from the previous week. Ethanol stocks also slipped to 19.7 million barrels. Gasoline demand for the week ending July 9th also declined to 381.36 million gallons, ethanol production represents just over 9 percent of gasoline demand.

RFA calculates the ethanol industry used 12.448 million bushels of corn each day last week to make those 821,000 barrels of ethanol while producing 92,656 metric tons of livestock feed including 81,811 metric tons of dried distillers grains. Biorefineries also produced more than 3.5 million pounds of corn oil each day
