New study shows ethanol can cut GHG emissions

The Midwest Governor’s Association has been discussing creation of a regional Low Carbon Fuels Standard (LCFS).  The group says it wants to reduce the Midwest region’s greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent.  But a new study initiated by a coalition of Midwestern agriculture and biofuel stakeholders shows that, by full implementing the expanded Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS2), that goal can be reached without creating a new LCFS.  The National Corn Growers Association helped sponsor the study.  We discussed it with NCGA president Darrin Ihnen.
