Beltex Corporation of Fort Worth, Texas is recalling over 135,000 pounds of beef trim products distributed to wholesalers and other establishments in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin. The products may be contaminated with E. coli O157;H7.
The possible contamination was discovered by routine food safety assessment by the Food Safety and Inspection Service. There have been no reports of any illness associated with consumption of the recalled products.
The products were produced on October 28, 2009, November 20, 2009, February 19, 2010 and April 2, 2010 and bear the establishment number “EST. 0704B” inside the USDA inspection mark on the label.
