Rose Acre Farms begins third party audit
Following the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS) news conference in Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday, April 7, where HSUS released a video of chickens being abused at poultry facilities owned by Rose Acre Farms and Rembrandt Enterprises , Rose Acre Farms is undergoing a third party audit of their poultry operations in Iowa.
“Today, we’re actually doing an independent audit, with a third party, on all three of our Iowa locations, to get a confirmation from a third party that everything’s good,” said KY Hendrix, Vice President of production at Rose Acre Farms.
Hendrix also tells Brownfield Rose Acre Farms stand behind their production practices.
“We care about our animals, we care about our environment, we care about the freedom of choice, we care about our people and we want to provide a good product that you can feel good about,” Hendrix said.
The employee that recorded the HSUS video only worked for Rose Acre Farms for 2 weeks. Hendrix says that as of now, no legal action against that individual is planned, even though the employee did sign the company’s “Animal Welfare” paper that says if anything was being done, like what was shown in the video, they were to bring it to the attention of a supervisor, which obviously did not happen.

I agree with the other commentor. Sounds like ‘the video spokesperson’ was just an undercover plant like the one who was paid by animal rights groups with laundered money in the circus lawsuit.
When you have people paid to go in and find problems, many times they prove to be the cause of the problems they find. Why would any self-respecting manager NOT report the things pointed out to the owner? Why would they allow the abuse that was filmed to continue rather than stopping it and firing the worker(s) responsible for it? Why was there never more than one person shown in the video on camera at any given time? Why did they always seem to be looking right into the camera as the abuse was going on? Why would the manager be doing an interview with someone on video about things she wasn’t even reporting to management was going on? If the video was undercover, why was she doing it at all as if she knew it was there all along?
We must not have seen the same video, nancy. It was obviously a hidden camera worn by the undercover person. The other employees seem totally unaware of the camera.
” . . .always seem to be looking right into the camera as the abuse was going on . . .”
Of COURSE they are looking at the person who’s wearing it because they’re talking directly to him. It’s looks more like casual (albeit incriminating) “shop talk”, not an interview.
The farms are not even disputing that the video is legit. They’re just trying to determine if they can punish the whistle blower.
Here’s the site I saw the vid:

The good news is that if they want to send eggs to CA now they will have to follow the same new humane housing law that CA ranchers will be required to comply with. Ca voters voted that one in. And now it is a law that CA stores can not ship eggs in from other egg ranches that do not follow the same law. Iowa ships plenty of eggs to CA.
Sounds like the frame job they did on Ringling Brothers (dismissed!) which culminated with Feld Ent. charging HSUS under the RICO act. Could this be another example in the same vein? Sounding that way………..
