Western Farm Show this weekend

The 49th annual Western Farm show is coming up this weekend in Kansas City, Mo. Over 500 exhibitors are expected to be a part of the show at the American Royal Complex. Alternative energy will be highlighted at the show this year with an increase in alternative exhibitors and two energy forums for attendees.

“We are producing in Wagstaff Theater what we are calling our food and fuel forum. What we are going to be doing there is talking a little bit about alternative fuels, wind, solar, biomass and ethanol,” said Jeff Flora, manager of the show. “And we are also going to be talking about what role agriculture is playing in producing fuel as far as biomass and some of the other new innovations that are taking place. We have seven very qualified speakers. There will be a lot of opportunities for attendees to interact with those speakers.”

Besides the exhibits and forums, attendees will have to opportunity to visit the health and safety roundup area for free health screenings and attend the Family Living Center Seminars.

The show is this Friday through Sunday, Feb. 19-21.  Hours are Friday and Saturday, from 9am to 5 pm, and Sunday, 9 am to 4pm.  Tickets are $8 at the door and children under 12 get in free. For more information visit www.westernfarmshow.com.
