Growth Energy demands apology from GMA

They’re still waiting for an apology from “Big Food.”

On the heels of the latest crop production report from USDA, Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis is repeating his demand that the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) apologize for what Buis calls “its multi-million dollar propaganda blitz to spread lies about ethanol.”  Buis says the forecast for record crops once again confirms that farmers can meet the needs for food, feed and fuel—and in his words, “that we don’t have to make a false choice between food and fuel.”

Cheap grain = cheap meat. And the big grocery chains and meat processors like cheap meat because they can enjoy a large retail (or wholesale) mark-up (due to lack of competition)without the retail prices getting so high that they starting getting a big dropoff in consumer purchasing.
