Sioux City-based Terra Industries’ board of directors has unanimously rejected CF Industries’ latest proposal to acquire Terra.
Terra says the fertilizer sector has strengthened significantly in recent months and that the near-term and long-term prospects for the fertilizer business have brightened. As a result, the board felt that CF’s latest proposal was substantially less than what Terra is worth.
