Corn and soybean farmers whose harvest is being delayed because of weather are reminded to contact their crop insurance agent by today, Thursday, December 10, which is the end of the federal crop insurance period in Indiana. Not sure what’s required, the recommendation is to contact your crop insurance agent.
“Whether it’s our client or any other client, that’s the safest approach,” said Jim Rink, director of farm/crop programs for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. “If they have corn in the field, the safest approach would be to contact their agent and ask the agent to submit a claim on their behalf.”
