Two Midwest propane terminals run dry

According to a DTN report, two Midwest propane terminals on the ONEOK pipeline system ran dry on Monday—while other wholesale outlets continue to experience long wait times for truckers to lift the product.

The report says ONEOK’s terminals in Plattsmouth (Plats-muth), Nebraska and Tampico, Illinois were both out of propane Monday morning.  No word on when the Tampico terminal would be replenished. The Plattsmouth location was scheduled to receive 35 loads of propane by mid-afternoon Monday.  The pipeline’s other Iowa locations—Clear Lake, Des Moines, Iowa City and Rockford—were still dispensing propane on Monday.  But those terminals continue to experience long wait times for trucks to lift product.  More than 20 trucks were in line at the Clear Lake location at eight o’clock Monday morning.

Demand for propane is high this fall due to abnormally high amounts of high moisture corn.
