There are a lot of issues growers in the U.S. are concerned about – but the biggest right now is getting their crops out. Darrin Ihnen is the president of the National Corn Growers Association who farms in southeast South Dakota, “We just got done with our soybeans done (last Tuesday) and probably have 10 to 12 percent of our corn crop is all. And what’s coming out is very good yielding but it’s very high in moisture. So, it’s just, it’s going to be a long fall.”
Ihnen says one thing is certain, it’s a slow harvest across the board, “It’s just not one area – it’s everybody. And so, you know, as farmers we always feel a little better when somebody else has some problems, too.”
NCGA President Darrin Ihnen spoke with Brownfield at the National Association of Farm Broadcasting convention in Kansas City.
