A majority of agribusiness leaders polled last week report they are optimistic about their company’s outlook in 2010 compared to 2009.
The poll was conducted by Agri Marketing magazine and the marketing firm AdFarm. It surveyed leading executives from a wide range of agricultural companies operating in U.S. markets. Twelve percent of respondents said they were “very optimistic” about their own company’s prospects for 2010, while 45 percent said they were “optimistic”. Thirty-five percent were “neutral.”
Asked about the ag economy in general, 37 percent said they were optimistic about 2010, but over half of the respondents were neutral. Those serving crop producers were more optimistic about the general ag economy than those serving the livestock marketplace.
