South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson is urging the heads of USDA and the Department of Justice to schedule one of their agricultural competition meetings in South Dakota.

Johnson sent letters to Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack and Attorney General Eric Holder, inviting them to come to South Dakota to gain a better understanding of competition issues affecting the ag industry in the 21st century.  Vilsack and Holder recently announced that they plan to hold workshops around the country next year to examine the issue.  Johnson says South Dakota would be an excellent location for such a hearing with its diversity of production of livestock and field crops.

They need to get that EPA dust plan on the table before they proceed or there will be no need to proceed between that and cap & trade.
