Transportation significantly affects soybean profitability

Southern Illinois soybean grower Dean Campbell likes to talk about issues that impede transporting his soybean crop to where it needs to be. Campbell, part of the Soy Transportation Coalition, maintains that soybean growers would be better off if efficiencies were worked into the channels through which soybeans go to market. Rural roads, railroads, waterways – none escape his scrutiny and his suggestions about how they might be improved. He talked to Brownfield about it at the Farm Progress Show.
