The USDA expects the U.S. ag trade surplus to decline from fiscal year 2009 to fiscal year 2010.

The 2010 surplus is projected at $15 billion compared to the 2009 estimate of $21 billion.

USDA expects less export demand for grains and oilseeds because of an increased global supply and sees import demand rising with improved consumer spending.

Fiscal year 2010 starts October 1.
