Missouri Sale of Champs tops $104,000

The Missouri State Fair’s Youth in Ag Day Sale of Champions raised over $104,000 to benefit Missouri youth involved in agriculture.The Grand Champion Steer at the Missouri State Fair sold for $18,000 at the sale of champions Saturday night. The 1,310 pound Crossbred steer was exhibited by Claire Martin of Curryville and purchase by Edward Jones and Associates. The steer was then donated to the University of Missouri Animal Sciences Department.

The Grand Champion Barrow sold for $19,000 to MU Independent Aggies of Columbia, Youth in Agriculture and hometown supporters. Tyler Martin of Centralia exhibited the winning 262 pound Crossbred hog.
