Thank you Senator Lugar for your comments! I am very concerned about Cap and Trade legislation. As proposed, this legislation doubles our electric bills, adds to the cost of liquid fuels, increases the cost of corn production by $80 an acre, devastastes manufacturing jobs in the Midwest and has minimal positive benefits to the environment. Can you believe the U.S. House of Representatives passed this bill? Where will the next generation of Americans find jobs if this legislation passes? I pray the U.S. Senate will do what's right for America and I hope all Americans are contacting their U.S. Senators and asking them to vote No on Cap and Trade.

I hope this legilation on climate change is voted down as it will tax our ag industry to no end. Cost now are skyrocketing and this will add fuel to the well funded 'green' movement. I farm and work with the climate every day and I don't need taxes added to my electric bill because someone in government thinks coal is 'dirty'. It's also a crock to think this carbon credit available to farmers will offset the new taxes-maybe $1 back for every $10 of new taxes/regulations.
