Schillinger Seed, a specialty soybean seed company headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa recently launched a new division focused exclusively on non-GMO soybean seed. It’s called eMerge Genetics, and Schillinger’s Corey Nikkel says it fills a growing demand for food-grade, non-GMO soybeans from both overseas food companies that require non-GMO products and domestic food companies that are increasingly looking for healthier food ingredients.

Hi Ken,
I noticed the text of this feature about non-GMO soybeans. My brother-in-law has been doing this for several years (me, too). I believe there is only one or two others in Cass County that produce non-GMO soybeans on a wide-scale basis.
Hope you are doing well. Just last week, I sent an email to Nancy Heidemann concerning some ideas for a 30th anniversary event for LEAD I.
Take care.
Wade
We have a great deal of Non-GM soy crops around us. There is a big market for them, and the return is much higher than GM. It’s all consumer driven, and right now they are voting with their wallets.
