In recent years, U.S. livestock producers have faced an onslaught of new environmental regulations. In Iowa, the livestock industry was recently able to fend off tough new rules that would have limited when manure could be applied to frozen and snow-covered ground.
Brownfield’s Ken Anderson visited with Bruce Berven, executive vice president of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, who calls it was a big victory for Iowa’s cattle industry.
