According to the Indiana field office of the National Ag Statistics Service soybean planting in the state reached 90 percent complete as of Sunday, June 21, but in the southern sections only 70 percent is in the ground.
The condition of the corn crop declined 4 points from a week ago with 62 percent in good to excellent condition, 10 percent of the crop is in poor to very poor condition.
Another week of rainy weather slowed wheat harvest that is just getting underway in southern Indiana. The continued wet conditions is also causing a decline in the condition of the wheat crop, the latest report has 68 percent in good to excellent condition, down from73 percent a week ago.
The condition of pastures remained steady from a week ago at 79 percent good to excellent.
