With just 11 percent of thecorn crop planted as of Sunday, May 10, planting progress in Indiana is now 20 days behind average, 13 days behind last year’s pace.
Soybean planting isn’t any better, according to the weekly Crop and Weather Report, soybean planting at just 2 percent is 17 days behind the5-year average.
Looking at the wheat crop, 82 percent is jointed and 15 percent is heading, 10 percentage points behind the 5 year average. The wheat crop is rated 79 percent good to excellent.
Indiana pastures continue to show improvement with 74percent in good to excellent condition.
